Jenn + Robert | Intimate Backyard Wedding | Montana wedding photographer

Jenn + Robert | Intimate Backyard Wedding | Montana wedding photographer

Jenn and Robert's intimate backyard wedding in Missoula, Montana, was one of my favorite weddings to date. It was colorful, joyful, simple, and down to earth, and oh so beautiful. They celebrated with their closest friends, family and their adorable son, with a sweet ceremony, cocktail hour, yard games and a casual dinner, all while being serenaded by...

Hannah + Nick | Romantic Montana Engagement | Montana Wedding Photographer

It was such a lovely evening hanging out with Hannah and Nick for their engagement session! The weather was perfect, not too hot or cold, and the two of them had a natural chemistry that was so fun to photograph. They weren't afraid to laugh and flirt with each other, something I love to see in the couple's I work with!

We took a short hike up to an area I've never taken any clients. There's sage brush all over (one of my favorites!) and these gorgeous rocks that stand tall from the ground. Hannah's dress was so romantic with the swooped low back, I couldn't get enough of photographing it!...

Finn Thomas | Newborn to Two Months

Guys, my little man is already over TWO MONTHS OLD. How did the time go by so fast?? It's hard to believe that 9 weeks have already passed since I got to hold my baby boy on my chest for the first time. He was a pretty big boy when he was born, 8lbs 11oz! Nothing has changed, as he eats all the time and has chunked up a whole bunch since then - you can see the difference in the last photo. He weighs almost 14 pounds now!

Maddie + Caleb | Bozeman, Montana Wedding | Featured on TLC's Sister Wives

Maddie and Caleb's wedding at Gallatin River Hideaway in Bozeman, Montana was one I won't soon forget! It was a little different than the normal weddings I photograph, because these two are part of TLC's show, Sister Wives! Instead of working with a typical videographer team, I got to work with a whole TV crew - so crazy and fun!

When Maddie first met Caleb, she wasn't really fond of him, but after a while they became good friends. Three years after they met, they were ATV riding when those "more than friends" sparks started to fly...

The Importance of the Engagement Session | Montana Wedding Photography

I always look forward to this time of year when the weather gets a little warmer, things get a little greener, and people are just all the way around happier folks to be around. Springtime also means that wedding season is just around the corner - and engagement session season is, like, tomorrow!...

Emily + Eric | Lakeside Engagement Session | Flathead Valley, Montana

I always feel so honored that I have the opportunity to work with really amazing people in this world -  couples that are madly in love, that value marriage and commitment, and who value photography as a way to capture their moments together. Emily and Eric are no different! These two are my kind of people. They love the outdoors, are down to earth, friendly, and there's no doubt that they adore each other... we even like the same baby names!

Halie + Ilya | Spring Maternity Session | Bitterroot Valley, Montana

When you're pregnant, you put out a lot of baby vibes, and I'm no different. In return, baby vibes have been coming back to me with more bump session requests than normal - which I LOVE!

Halie and Ilya took me up to a gorgeous piece of their family ranch overlooking the Bitterroots for their session. Ilya took great care in driving two very pregnant women up an extremely rough road as gently as he could, doing his very best to not put anyone into labor. He succeeded!

Soiree 99 Events | Moonshadow Estate | Stella Kelsie Photography

I met Brittany last summer at Ryan and Kym's wedding (blog coming soon!) and was instantly impressed at her organization and professionalism as their day-of coordinator. She didn't have her own business at the time, but it was obvious that she was going to be good at it when the time came!

A few weeks back, Brittany contacted me letting me know that she had finally started up Soiree 99 Events, an event planning business based here in the Bitterroot Valley. We met up for coffee and chatted about her vision and style as a planner, coordinating some shoots together, and getting her some updated head shots...

Tabitha + Spencer | Snowy Maternity Session | Lake Como, Montana

You know what's a little more fun than being pregnant with a darling little baby? Being pregnant and due just a month apart from one of your best friends! Tabitha and I spent just about every waking moment together in High School. In fact, she's sending me embarrassing photos from those glory years as I speak...

What To Expect When I'm Expecting | Stella Kelsie Photography

I can't believe it's almost time to welcome our newest addition to our family! Our baby boy has already spent a little over 33 weeks growing inside me, and the time has FLOWN BY. It feels like just yesterday that I was packing my gear into my car, headed to photograph the first of two weddings that weekend in August, still in shock that the test I took that morning told me I was pregnant....

My Favorite Podcasts | Stella Kelsie Photography

I'm pretty sure I'm a little late to the game, but podcasts have been my go-to lately. I very rarely have time to sit down and read (I really should take time out of my day for that!), so the digital form of a book or listening to a podcast is how I've been using any spare downtime I have! I usually listen when I'm driving to and from shoots and weddings since that's when I don't have anyone else in the car with me.

My podcast playlist looks an awful lot like my music playlist... a mix of just about everything. Check out my current favorites!...

Holly + Greg | Snowy Engagement | Missoula, Montana

I remember sitting down with Holly at Cafe Dolce at our very first meeting to chat all things wedding, and instantly falling in love with her happy, down-to-earth personality (and her super beautifully unique engagement ring!!). I couldn't wait for the snow to come to finally meet her fiancé, Greg, and get the two of them in front of my lens! Winter took a while to make it's appearance around here...

Battling Burnout

Hey friends! Loooong time no see! It's been over a month since I have blogged any sessions, and a few weeks since I've posted any new content on my Facebook or Instagram. That's way too long for a business that heavily relies on the reach of social media!

Hopefully I still have a few followers out there that haven't completely given up on me - and hopefully this post will bring comfort to someone who is dealing with the same struggles I am nearing the end of a busy work season....

Kristin + Michael | Glacier National Park Proposal | Many Glacier, Montana

Kristin and I met in 2013 at Rocky Mountain School of Photography. We were in the same group for the Summer Intensive course, and instantly hit it off! After spending almost every spare moment together in class, shooting outside of class, and going out for dinner and drinks, I guess you could say that we ended up pretty darn close. ;)

Kristin fell in love with Montana, and decided to come back to assist at RMSP for two different summers...

Vianna + Derick | Wedding Couple Portraits | Bitterroot Valley, Montana

I was so excited when she contacted me about doing some bridal portraits of her and her new hubby, Derick. We went out to Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge and enjoyed the perfect sunset light (and maybe a few billion mosquitos)!

When I asked Vianna how she met Derick, she said "Well, he pretty much slept with all of my brothers..." Then she laughed, and explained that Derick and her brothers

Roaring Lion Fire | Communities Coming Together | Bitterroot Valley, Montana

On Sunday afternoon sometime around 2:00pm, a forest fire erupted near Hamilton, only 10 miles from where I live. In a matter of only a few short hours, the blaze had overcome 500 acres, growing bigger by the minute, and residents of the area were thrown into Stage 2 mandatory evacuations. (Timelapse VIDEO) For some, there was only enough time to grab their pets, maybe a few valuable belongings, open gates for their livestock, and leave their homes behind hoping and praying that by some miracle it would still be standing when they returned.

LaRee | Class of 2017 | Corvallis High School

I'm getting old.

I remember when LaRee was a tiny little thing, running down the hallway laughing hysterically because she had her sister's underwear on her head... anyone that's reading this and knows her, knows that this was a normal occurrence in her household when she was a little girl!
